Top 5 Van Essentials

Although we've only started out on our can journey fairly recently, we already have a few van essentials that we couldn't be without!

#1 Vango Scran XL

The thing I struggled most with when starting out was knowing what to cook, and then we found this. It's electric so you can easily plug it into the van and it heats up really quickly. It's large enough to cook a full meal on and once you're done the wire is removable so it's really easy to clean.

#2 Ridgemonkey

Sticking with the cooking theme. When starting out we did our research on what essentials we might need, an the Ridgemonkey was mentioned time and time again. Used for hob cooking, it is really versatile and there's not much you can't cook in it. It can be used as two separate griddles or close it together to create an oven. Jus-Rol cinnamon swirls cooked in the Ridgemonkey are a van lifer favourite.

#3 Dock & Bay towels

The best space saving towels! They come in all sorts of patterns and colours and they fold down so small and dry really quickly. We can easily fit 5 towels on a small shelf in the back of the van.

#4 Night Owl Coverless Duvet

These coverless duvets are great. They are really cosy and come in all different colours. They fold down into a bag just like a sleeping bag and the whole thing can be put in the washing machine when dirty. We just found it made the van feel a bit more homely and it looked much nicer than having sleeping bags all over the place.

#5 Dryrobe (or other changing robe)

This one is pretty self explanatory. Great for getting changed in or to cover up with when coming back from the showers. They are also nice and cosy to sit around in at night. They're also waterproof so great for wearing for a walk to the beach when the weather isn't great.
