The Maiden Voyage

After staring at our shiny new campervan on the drive for months over the winter, we were absolutely desperate to get away for the first time. So when February kindly gave us some unusually warm weather, we made a last minute decision to book a one night stay at Love2Stay, Shrewsbury. We had already put some essentials in the van (just in case) so we quickly packed up some clothes and away we went!

When we arrived, the check in process was really easy and the pitches were really easy to find. Each pitch had a light, tap and EHU, which was good because we realised that our electric cable wasn't particularly long (lesson number one).

We were so pleasantly surprised with everything Love2Stay had to offer. There's an onsite coffee shop and café serving hot food and pizzas (the lasagne was delicious). There were communal hot tubs, a freshwater outdoor pool and a heated outdoor pool with a beach area (it was very mild for the time of year but we weren't brave enough to don the swimming cosies in February). The kids absolutely loved the large play area and couldn't wait to get their shoes off to try out the sensory walk. There was even an assault course and doggy exercise area for Tilly.

The ONLY negative was that dogs weren't allowed near the pools so if you have your four legged friend with you then obviously someone will miss out on the pool.

So all in all we had a blast on our first overnight van trip. The only major blunder was that we forgot one of the kids coats (obviously the husbands fault) but luckily there were no downpours so it didn't matter too much. Our main takeaway from the trip was that an awning would definitely be needed for any longer trips - to contain the kids if nothing else.
